A scaffolding approach I would adapt is for the pre-reading of a text for my reading curriculum. I would like to create a vocabulary wall that is updated weekly (or per text) that is interactive for the students. I would preview the text and find the words that are going to be challenging, and will have them on the board before we start the next text. I will put up a picture next to each word that represents it and then have the kids use sticky notes to write down what they think it means. Then I will reveal the true definition during the reading. This will keep students engaged in the lesson and help them to break down the vocabulary. With this we will also preview any text features and why they might be there.
