Mod 8 Discussion: Tiering and Scaffolding in My Classroom

One of the scaffolding techniques I like to use is pre-teaching vocabulary to my ESOL students.  Many times when teaching vocabulary to my students, they have absolutely no idea of the meaning and have no context of the topic to which they can even try to guess.  Pre-teaching the vocabulary ensures that they are not getting an answer wrong because they are not familiar with the topic.  I would definitely have anchor charts in the classroom which they can reference as they continue to learn during each unit.
