Mod 6 Discussion: Language Acquisition in a Cultural Context

A word wall with pictures is great, especially for those just learning the language. Some words from tthe different cultures in your classroom can be incorporated into the word wall.  Pictures will help to provide a connection to the word.  Students can replicate the word wall in a journal or small binder.  Depending on ability and instructional time, students can write the words and draw pictures, write the words and glue pictures, glue the words and draw pictures, or glue both the words and pictures.  Copying the word wall could be incorported as a center activity.
