Mod 6 Discussion: Language Acquisition in a Cultural Context

By focusing on morphological awareness, we are enhancing vocabulary through word context. Allowing students to know and identify root words, prefixes, suffixes, etc. can help with learning and building vocabulary to help language aquisition. Students can also compare words ion their native language to the new words they will learn to build upon their prior knowledge.
