Mod 6 Discussion: Language Acquisition in a Cultural Context

One of the common practices I use in helping learners identifying the meaning of words is actually having them draw out what the word means. For instance this most recent year we were covering forms of government. In order for them to better identify which form was which I allowed them to do a drawing or even a #hashtag. Some of the examples I got were great and it really assisted in making that connection for a lot of my learners. An example of this, to better explain, is:

Term: Monarchy

Hashtag: #royalty
