Scenario Response 3

I believe student 1 will initially struggle academically with language and cultural norms but will soon catch up with reading and writing skills.  Student 2 may struggle in the classroom environment, may experience trauma and discomfort in new country. They may have limited native language literacy and be below grade level in math.  They may exibit overall poor academic performance. For student 1, I will assign them a buddy to help them acclimate and will help integrate them into the classroom. For student 2 I will work one on one with them consistently and start with fundamentals-letters and letter sounds and differentiate their work to a beginner level. 

I will need to prepare for basic language barrier issues-understanding the child's day to day needs, modifying questions when I call on them in class, being sure to send home translated correspondence to parents or guardians.
