This student may benefit from meeting in small groups to clear up any/all misconceptions. The student is not struggling from decoding, but maybe question/answers relationships or responses. The student may benefit from using a story map to retell the most important events. I would also use Guided Reading/ Instruction to help support the student. Reciprocal teaching may also be beneficial.
