Workshop Purpose:  Introduction to Our School:  

I would begin the introduction process by introducing myself and other dignitaries. 

Focus: I would have prepared a power point presentation of the school, the classroom expectations, school rules,  homework rules and guidelines, absenteeism, etc.  I would include "diversity in culture" and how that relates to each family and let the families know about the opportunity that each have to  have a meeting and my willingness to discuss their student's progress or concerns.

Closing:  Open forum for discussion.  Parents would be allowed 5-10 minutes for questions and answers.

Exit:  As parents exit, I would meet them personally to get more formally acquainted. 

The workshop should be about an hour.
