I would conduct this workshop over a 1hr period to include both Open/meet and mingle time (10-15), followed by a more formal presentation (30 minutes), then wrap up with more mingle and connection time.

15 min Arrival and Meet/Mingle Time - allows time for families to arrive and feel comfortable in the learning space/classroom.  For those that arrive early, there is time to walk around the room, explore the space, chat informally with the teacher or other families, and look at student work.  Those that move/arrive a little later due to cultural norms will still be "on time" for the more formal presentation.

30 minute formal presentation - Talk about "inclusive classroom" and welcoming of ALL students/cultures.  Discuss class rules/expectations as they relate to school policy, teacher/parent/students expectation and the importance of open communication.  Class dynamics illustrated to be student-centered, while supporting social skill development, and respect for difference/"uniquenesses" of each learner.

Last 15 minute - more mingle and question time... Teacher can connect more with families on a personal level, answer questions, etc.  Parents leave with teacher contacts, calendar of events, hand-outs, etc.

This is a nicely planned event.
