A listening and speaking strategy that can be used with everyone is "I do, we do, you do". This allows students to listen and follow along while I model a skill for the group, the students collaborating with a group to practice the skill, and then finally each student doing it independently. 

An appropriate grouping plan that would allow appropriate pairing of students for optimal ELL engagement is buzz groups. This would be beneficial because it would allow students to exchange ideas in an informal setting with peers.
