Scenario Response 2

I would integrate different cultures into my lessons. Invite families into the classroom to share their cultures with the class and provide dishes of that culture. In one of our reading modules, we teach about immigration. The students all research their heritage and create a project to share with the class. Students prepare a dish with their families to bring to our heritage celebration. All the families come together to try different dishes and share their culture. It is a great event!

If I were in an administrative role, I would make sure to provide PLC for my teachers for them to be prepared for situations like this.

Allyssa, I love the idea of a heritage celebration in the classroom, and I think sharing cuisine is a fabulous way to introduce diverse cultures to students.
