The final project is a book report on a selection of the student’s choice.

First, I would use strategy #1 to ensure they have a checklist and are monitoring their own timelines.  I think this is a very good skill to start nurturing at an early age.  I would ask “are you checking your items on the checklist?” and “are you on track with your timeline?”

I would also use strategy #5 to ensure that the proper type of feedback is provided during a presentation.  Feedback would have to be modeled so that it is not negative criticism, but constructive to the student making the presentation. Other students can use a phrase such as “I really liked the way you…”
