If a student arrived with very divergent beliefs, I believe students and staff should be made aware of the differences and taught to be empathetic towards diversity. There are so many wonderful pictures books that could be used to help the class such as All are Welcome or The Name Jar. It is important with younger students to help them to understand and welcome their new classmate.
