When a new student from a different culture is coming to my classroom I can first try to research their culture and where they are coming from to learn any cultural beliefs or tradition. Then I can call home and set up a meeting with the family so that they feel more comfortable with me and the school. I can encourage the new student to join after school clubs or activities. I can also try to make a home visit or attend a community event that the family would attend as well.
