One tiering approach I would use is giving students different levels of support during a PE activity. For example, if we are working on throwing and catching, younger students in lower grades could practice with a larger ball, shorter distance, and more time to focus on the basic skills. Older students in high school could work on more advanced skills, like throwing while moving, using different game situations, or improving accuracy and teamwork.

I would use demonstrations, pictures, and clear instructions to help all students understand the activity. I would also let students work with partners or small groups so they can learn from each other. I would use this approach during different skill units in PE because students have different abilities and learning needs. By adjusting the activity, all students can feel successful while still being challenged.
