Module 5 video discussion
One of the standards in teaching high school students in the CNA (certified nursing assistant) program is applying the principles of infection. One example of criterion-based assessment would be using rubrics when evaluating students to: (1) provide oral/written explanation of how the chain of infection cycle happens, and (2) demonstrate how students can break each link through proper infection-control practices (such as handwashing and use of personal protective equipment).
For my interim assessment, students will complete a pre‑assessment to gauge their initial confidence in both the content and related skills. A mid‑term confidence survey will then be administered to measure growth and identify areas needing reinforcement. This interim measure will follow a format similar to a “fist‑to‑five” assessment, where students rate their confidence on a scale from 1 to 5, with 1 indicating no confidence and 5 indicating a high level of confidence.
