Discussion
I would adopt a flexible grouping model in which students are intentionally regrouped on a regular basis based on instructional goals and data. Groups would vary between heterogeneous and homogeneous depending on the task. The guiding pedagogical theory would be Vygotsky’s Sociocultural Theory, emphasizing learning through interaction within the Zone of Proximal Development, along with principles of cooperative learning. This allows students to be both supported and challenged, prevents social stagnation, and promotes continued academic growth.
