Mod 13 Discussion: Aligning Curriculum

For me criterion IV is the most important. In Civics we have 4 state exams and mastery of the topics and terminology is important. The first 9 weeks students have to understand the basic concepts otherwise they will struggle from there out. Having a regular assessment allows for me to gauge where students are and then to help with any underperforming concepts or ideas. It is easier to review important topics early on and ensure students understand before moving on instead of trying to cram before the DPMA and seeing that students are not grasping the concepts discussed.
