Mod 13 Discussion: Aligning Curriculum
Mod 13 Discussion
Of the Achieve ELA criteria for preparing curriculum for standards alignment, the most important for my own curriculum goals and work with students is regularly assessing whether students are mastering the content and skills in the lesson/unit. Regularly assessing whether students are mastering the content and skills in the lesson/unit is the most important to me because it informs my instruction, helps me plan my next instructional moves, and informs me of how students are responding to my instruction. Alignment to standards and reflecting shifts in standards comes through collaboration and my school district, so that is not the most important to me. I can use what I observe and gather with data when I assess student mastery to then respond to students varied needs for instructional support.
