In science class there can be some very long and complicated words, but they are usually made up of prefixes, suffixes, and chemical names or compounds that repeat themselves. As the teacher showed us in the video, start with learning how to pronouce the sounds with a starting point sound, then if that does not make sense, try different sound combinations until it sounds right. 

For the ELL student, the starting point sound is a great place to start. However, as we know in English, and from one or two stand up comedians that make fun of our language, sometimes youre going to stumble with the phonics before you get it pronounced correctly. Bomb Tomb Comb.
