I would utilize positive interdependence because the approach nurtures a sense of shared responsibility and support among the members which works towards increasing their motivation, their collaborative skills and their overall academic achievement while at the same time holding individual members responsible for their own work. In addition, it also helps ELLs develop their social skills and build stronger, more positive peer relationships which are both important factors for their long-term success. This idea is supported by Lewin and Deutsch's Social Interdependence Theory which posits that an individual's outcomes are influenced by the actions of others.
