To ensure that groups are not too comfortable and getting too used to each other, I would implement flexible grouping. While keeping a base group, I would try to mix things around and do different activities with different heterogenous groupings. This offers the most opportunities for students to be able to get the chance to work with all of their peers at sometimes which gives them the experience of working with all different types of learner, leaders, and workers. However, they will still have their base group in which they feel at home and comfortable with as well.
