With my new student, I would say the Brain-based Theory applies the most. As she is listening, she is learning. With little support at home to help practice and learn English, a natural way in the natural classroom setting is where she is going to learn most of the language. As she listens more and more, she will pick up on the terms and saying in a natural way and will be able to learn in what situations they need to use them in. I would continue to apply naturalistic learning, giving her lots of opportunity to interact and get involved with other students to learn the language. I would also give as many resources to help learn vocabulary words by using things like visual schedules and labels around the classroom.
