The formative assessment most commonly used in my school would be the exit tickets. Exit tickets work well for me because they provide quick, immediate feedback which allows for a window into student understanding and provides me with data to adjust the lesson for the next class as well as helping form the lesson for classes the next day. They force the student to reflect and access the information they learned for that day as well as provide an overall snapshot of how the class as a whole is progressing.

The formative assessment I would like to try is the gallery walk. Most of the teachers in my school use them but I have never tried one for myself. I believe they would be beneficial because it would provide an opportunity for the students to get up and move, varying the teaching modality for that lesson, as well allowing me to observe the student body to determine what further instruction might be required.
