Mod 5 Discussion: Formal and Informal Assessments

One formative assessment that I have used in my class is the KWL chart. I like using the KWL chart because I get to see what students know about the topic we are about to be learning. I also like to see the things they want to know about the topic. Finally, I get to see the growth that they make when we have finished the topic, and we see what they have learned. 

A formative assessment I would like to use moving forward is the gallery walk. This is something I feel like can help my ELLs gain confidence in the classroom because they are building relationships with their peers as they are interacting with each other.
