Based on the insights from these educational videos I would create a criterion-based interim assessment that targets a particular learning goal which could be either a writing skill or a science skill according to the next lesson plan. During a science unit on insect anatomy my interim assessment might require students to produce scientific representations of insects that demonstrate their understanding by labeling the head, thorax, and abdomen. The assessment would include clear criteria: Students must produce accurate labels and clear drawings while demonstrating their ability to describe each part of the drawing. The continuous assessment provides insight into student mastery progression and helps detect misunderstandings early. After initial instruction during the unit I would perform the interim assessment at strategic points which would generate information for student grouping and individualized instruction needs. Students requiring extra practice in drawing and labeling can benefit from specialized assistance prior to their final assessment. This method demonstrates effective learning standard support through multiple data points to monitor progress as highlighted in instructional videos.
