Discussion: Final Reflection

I think this course was useful for a number of reasons: 1) some of the material affirmed for me what I have been doing and trying to do in the classroom, particularly my small group approach; 2) though I have been data driven in how I approach the benchmarks and standards with a targeted approach, I have not always effectively embedded my assessments into my lessons, a stratgegy that would make my data all the more strategic and my understanding of how to facilitate greater student growth more precise; the material in this course has given me some insight into how to accomplish; and 3) the course has broadened my understanding of to get more creative with my classroom activities (I use modeling, small groups, and graphic organizers: but now I will make greater use of choice boards and jigsaw approaches). So this course was time well spent. Thank you.
