What took the most thought? Section two of this assignment is about understanding the needs of All learners and thus being able to integrate and balance the academic rigor needed to master the benchmarks with providing enough supports (scaffolding, differentiated learning, extra time) so that every student has a chance to succeed, and at the same time ensure that the lesson possesses what I call “the engagement factor,” that the students are enthusiastic about the lesson. So balancing these three variables is what took the most thought and was also the most challenging. I do think I was successful in creating a lesson/unit that would/will push my students to think more deeply and at the same time allow everyone to succeed. I also think a great deal of “fun” was built into the unit.
