Scenario Response No. 7
Grouping Approach
As an ESE teacher that primarily focuses on K and 1st grade students, I group my students by needs. This includes ESOL students. Many of my students are not familiar with the letter names or sounds as many other students that speak the English Language. All ESOL students at this age can work in groups to learn the process of reading letters and sounds as they develop reading. Because of the common needs, I feel that placing students into small groups heterogeneously.
