Mod 2 Discussion: Getting to Know Our Students and Why

Our ELLS are scholars that comes from different learning experiences. Some had a very good learning environment, while others may not receive appropriate lessons. They learned in a different way and in different languages. It is important for teachers to be aware of their students interests, goals, strengths and weaknesses, so teachers can set up their objectives planning a lesson. Teacher can focus on theses students in small groups or create activities to reinforce prior knowledge. Also the culture play an important role to avoid discomfort or misunderstandings during learning.
