Mod 13 Discussion: SIOP discussion

The SIOP model focuses mainly on understanding and celebrating the cultural backgrounds in the classroom. It builds background by involving students' prior knowledge and experiences. It uses different strategies to support their language development and acquisition. There are also many opportunities for the ELL student interact with other students and with the teacher. Ongoing assessment with feedback is highly effective with this model to be able to provide support to students.
