With any project, I provide students with a rubric outlining the objective and expectations. We review this as a class to ensure students understand exactly what is required. Demonstrations of the final product are modeled/reviewed. We also create a timeline or “mini goals” for the project. This helps students breakdown the project in steps, it also encourages them to stay on-task and holds them accountable for their work. The rubric is referred to often throughout the project as it can be used as a checklist and self-grading tool. I monitor progress and provide feedback through student check-ins. When students are completed with their final project, I provide opportunities for students to share their work. I demonstrate how I would provide feedback (glows and grows), then the class has a chance to offer feedback.
