Promoting an understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures can create a more inclusive and welcoming environment. This can lead to better student and staff engagement. While also reduce feelings of isolation within minority groups. When schools actively embrace multiculturalism, they become more dynamic and encourage a broader range of ideas and perspective. Unconscious bias can undermine the efforts to create an inclusive climate. In turn, bias can lead to unequal treatment and a lack of representation for certain groups. In addressing these biases an institution can work towards more ethical and equitable practices.

The NSF site has a plethora of resources available in assisting and bolstering an individual and their practice. As for the teaching of multiculturalism aspect, the NSF offers "Learning in Formal and Informal settings". An opportunity like this provides learners of all cultures a more relaxed learning environment that is far more inclusive than a traditional classroom setting.
