Students, and children in general, can feel badly when they are corrected too often for speaking incorrectly. For a student who already feels different because of a language barrier, it is possible that they will be even less likely to participate when they are corrected in front of peers. It makes sense to continue modeling the correct oral language as well as to have visuals in which students can refer.
