Scenario Response 7
Scenario Response 7
The checklist I have developed includes what I have learned thus far to be the most important elements that make up a healthy learning environment for ELL's.
- How is the atmosphere of the clasasroom? Is the class a friendly place where everyone feels included?
- Are there tools to help with English, like pictures and practice?
- What about different tools? Are there out-of-the-box or unique learning tools like personalized pictures and/or hands-on stuff to help ELL's learn?
- Is the teacher respectful of different cultures in the class? How do they show it?
- Are the lesson goals clear and easy for ELL's to understand?
- How are the students assessed to see if they understand? Does he differientate these assessments?
- Does the teacher use fun and interactive teaching methods?
- Does the teacher change things up to help different students?
- Does the teacher give high-fives, positive feedback, and/or other types of praise to ELL's for trying?
- Does the teacher try new things and learn from how they go? How much do they put themselves out there while expecting the same of their students?
