Mod 8 Video Discussion

As an elective teacher, my focus is often to build on what my students are learning in their Core Classes. Because of this, we more often focusing on "Writing to Learn" rather than "Learning to Write". It is expected that my students are learning to write in their main classes, so I focus on having students write to learn more about the content we are covering while also enforcing standards that are taught in their core classes. 

Many of my students are not strong writers, but they still enjoy writing. By allowing them to write freely, it encourages them and makes them feel more confident about their understanding of the content.
