With second language theory in the classroom, choosing not to constantly correct students serves an important purpose. There is a need for this! It creates an environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves without worrying about making mistakes all the time. For example, instead of jumping in to correct every error, there are other ways to help students become aware of and fix their own mistakes. Teachers can make sure they explain things clearly and use visual aids or gestures to help students understand better, or, even activities like role-playing different social situations.
