Mod 8 Video Discussion

In my classroom, the students participate in a close read of the text once a week. We preview the challenging vocabulary and I have the students turn and talk to discuss the meaning of unfamiliar words. I also strategically partner students that I think will work well together to achieve their learning goals. My biggest take away from the video is allowing time for students to think and answer. A lot of times I feel rushed to complete everything. Are we keeping up with the pacing guides? Moving forward, I would like to focus more on slowing down and having quality work from students as well as incorporating learning to write with the lessons.
