Mod 5 Video Discussion

Sometimes students are overconfident and therefore they do not put forth effort to add to their understanding or check their work.  This is a daily battle I face with students, especially during assessments.  This could be rectified by having students evaluate their own work according to a self-checking answer key after completing an assignment or assessment.  Listening to the student explain that he didn't know he was "not good at rates" reminded me of the overconfidence that students have, especially with new information.
