Mod 5 Video Discussion

The video snippet of the teacher presenting the lesson about “What rule did you use” mirrors my instruction. I constantly assess what my students are grasping and what skills they lack within the lesson. All of the students in the video were engaged and ready to learn, however there were some students who didn’t understand the “rule” concept. Also, there were a few students who thought outside the box and gave creative answers such as, “the rule I used was I gathered all of the shapes with sharp edges”.

An approach I would use from one of the videos is the use of peer discussions to facilitate self-reflection. As seen in the video, the student was critiqued by his peers and the final product evolved into a perfect representation of the monarch butterfly.
