Mod 9 Discussion: Oral Language Support in My Classroom

I think that with younger students, using sentence starters is an extremely effective way to model how a good discussion should be structured.  I think this would be great in small groups, where students are encouraged to collaborate about a topic in a specific way.  I also liked the example of the controlled discussion, and I think in this situation, teaching the students those sentence starters would be extremely helpful in encouraging them to speak about a subject in an academic way.
