Mod 9 Discussion: Oral Language Support in My Classroom

Getting Kindergarteners to speak fluently about topics sometimes can be a bit of a challenging task. We have open discussions as we preview academic vocabulary and preview the text. using the front cover of the text or a photo from within the text. Using sentence starters have been very helpful. Students often find the sentence starters helpful when we are doing writing assignments. Throughout the day they are able to reflect on what we discussed previously.
