When students are able to make meaningful interactions while building their comprehension of their academic vocabulary, they are most susceptible to perform well academically and socially. According to the text, "Content area vocabulary instruction has shown to be highly effective in helping students to understand content area vocabulary concepts, particularly in mathematics (Marzano, 2010)."  As the teacher, I would provide extra time, description, pictures and explanations for vocabulary words to struggling students. I would also select a proficient student to partner with struggling student to help them grasp the vocabulary concept faster.
