Scenario Response 4
Scenario Response IV
To support students at home, I would think this is a great way for the family to be involved in their child's progress at school. I would suggest to the parents with limited English watching all shows with the closed caption on. This will help by seeing the pictures hearing and associating the words of the English language with what they are seeing. Also, I would suggest that student can read to them daily, and they can use Rosetta Stone which is a good translator.
Also, I would suggest parents come into the classroom and interact with the class and well as my home visits if possible this is a way to letting the parents, student know that I embrace their culture and want them to be apart of the learning community.
Hi Natasha. I was thinking exactly the same thing about closed captioning, combining visual stimuli with the written language.
