Module 7 Video Discussion

The teacher gave the student time to preview the material before the other kids.  She "chunked" the work to allow for additional understanding.
Other successful strategies with ELL students could be:

• Use prereading activities to activate former knowledge
• Plan readings with repetitious text
• Use graphic organizers
• Use visual aids and teach students how to access them
• Check frequently for understanding
