Krashen's Theory of 2nd language acquisition makes a great deal of sense as it covers 5 relevant areas of language learning. It begins by defining how language is best learned through acquisition (versus learning) in ways that mirror the natural language learning processes taking place in a person's first language. He then discusses the important of following a natural order of language development where the learner can monitor there own learning and make changes as needed. This prevents the teacher from over-correcting the student and having them raise their affective filter and shut down. Lastly he talks about the use of comprehensible input as the means for interacting with and teaching second language students. All of these work together to support 2nd language acquisition for students.
