Science: Rocks

Pre-production  Allow students in small groups to examine and share their observations of various different rocks.

Early production  Ask students to describe a rock with the use of one or two words.

Speech emergence Have students pose a question/wonder about the rock.

Intermediate fluency After discussion with models, images, and video, allow students time to further explore, then have students share their findings in regards to the questions/wonder they had.

Advanced Fluency  Display the rocks allowing students to repeat engagement with the rocks and make inquiries.
