There are many methods that a teacher can use to help families from other cultures transition. If I had a new student from a culture with different cultural beliefs join my classroom I would use many methods to make them feel welcome and help them adjust.   First, I would learn how to welcome them to class in there native language every morning by saying their name and telling them good morning in their native language. Taking interest in their culture and language is important. I would have books available in my classroom library that reflects their culture. Next, I would label classroom objects in English and ask them to tell me the names of the objects in their language.  Finally, I would pair them up with a friend that could help assist them and make them feel welcome.

I love the idea of learning how to welcome them in their native language.
