Module 9 Video Response

This was another thoughtful, inspiring video! I have been saddened for a long time about the dearth of arts education in our schools, including the district I work in. While we do have several magnet schools dedicated to the arts, the focus on arts in the traditional schools that most students attend is lacking; our art electives are often overcrowded because they are not core subjects with state tests. However, this video showed the importance of the arts not only for student personal development but for their achievement. In these three schools, the arts are not set aside in isolation but instead integrated into all areas of student learning.
