In the first video, the teacher uses the frayer model when learning new vocabulary words.  I have used the frayer model before which I like.  In second grade, we use a simpler version of the frayer model.  What I would like to do similar to that teacher is have my student discover in pairs while using the text what key vocabulary words mean.  I have modeled how to use context clues, and we have had whole group lessons on how to complete the frayer model; however, I would like the students to become more independent with the process and use their text to help complete it.  I will have my students revisit the text more often for different purposes like what was shown in this video.
